EIMC Appoints Masendu-Kusane As CEO
  • Tsaone Segaetsho

Chandada Masendu-Kusane has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Education Infrastructure Management Company (EIMC), marking a significant step in strengthening Botswana’s institutional capacity to deliver modern and sustainable education infrastructure.

Her appointment comes at a pivotal time, as Botswana intensifies efforts to modernise its education ecosystem and align infrastructure delivery with long-term national development priorities. Masendu-Kusane assumes the role with a strong mandate to enhance execution, reinforce governance, and position EIMC as a high-performance vehicle for infrastructure delivery.

An accomplished executive, Masendu-Kusane brings extensive experience spanning property development, real estate management, infrastructure delivery, and organisational transformation. She holds qualifications in Property Studies and a Master of Science in Real Estate, complemented by globally recognised certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and PRINCE2 practitioner.

Over the course of her career, she has held senior leadership roles across the property, financial services, and infrastructure sectors, where she has consistently driven large-scale programmes and institutional reform initiatives. Her expertise includes leading complex project portfolios, establishing enterprise-wide project management frameworks, and strengthening governance, risk, and operational systems to improve delivery outcomes.

Masendu-Kusane is widely regarded for her transformational leadership style and strategic insight, with a proven ability to align organisational vision with disciplined execution. Her leadership has been instrumental in building high-performance teams and embedding systems that enable sustainable, long-term impact.

In addition to her executive experience, she has served on multiple boards, contributing to strategic planning, infrastructure investment decisions, and public-sector reform. This governance exposure positions her well to navigate the intersection of policy, delivery, and accountability in her new role.

As CEO of EIMC, Masendu-Kusane is expected to prioritise the establishment of robust institutional systems, enhance project delivery capabilities, and strengthen organisational accountability. Her focus will include building a resilient operational framework that supports efficient, transparent, and scalable infrastructure development.

Central to her mandate is the delivery of education infrastructure that is not only fit for purpose today but designed to meet the evolving needs of future generations. This includes ensuring that schools are developed as enabling environments that support quality learning, community development, and inclusive growth.

Her appointment signals a renewed emphasis on execution discipline and institutional strengthening within EIMC, as Botswana advances its broader agenda of investing in human capital and sustainable infrastructure.

With her blend of technical expertise, governance experience, and strategic leadership, Masendu-Kusane is well positioned to lead EIMC into its next phase of growth and impact.
