Absa Bank launches Business Credit Card

  • Tsaone Segaetsho

In a move aimed at bolstering the growth and success of business banking, particularly for SMEs, Absa Bank Botswana on Thursday unveiled its new business bank credit card in Gaborone.

Absa Bank Botswana described the launch as a significant milestone in its ongoing commitment to advancing the growth and prosperity of its Business Banking and SME clientele across the country.

The bank further noted that this strategic initiative underscores Absa’s dedication to delivering cutting-edge financial solutions that are attuned to the evolving needs of modern enterprises.

According to Absa Business Banking Director, Keletso Setimela, the newly introduced suite of business cards is crafted to empower enterprises with exceptional control, enhanced security, and a host of exclusive benefits. Setimela added that, in recognition of the strategic importance of the SME sector, Absa has invested in a robust card proposition that directly addresses the challenges businesses face in managing expenses, optimising cash flow, and securing transactions.

“For too long, businesses — particularly our dynamic SMEs — have relied on financial tools that did not fully cater to their unique requirements. We listened to their aspirations for greater control and more intelligent spending. These new cards are transformative, moving beyond mere transactional functionality to deliver sophisticated spend management solutions, superior security, and access to a host of exclusive benefits. It is about equipping businesses with the power to precisely track and manage their expenses, enabling them to concentrate on what they do best: innovating and growing,” said Setimela.

At the launch, Absa Bank Botswana showcased to its customers and members of the press the new Business Credit Card’s extensive features, specifically designed to meet the demands of the modern business environment.

The new suite of Absa Bank’s Business Credit Cards offers a variety of features tailored to meet the needs of today’s enterprises, including merchant discounts and advanced fraud protection, among others.

Setimela further underscored the transformative nature of these solutions.

“In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, banks play an essential role—not only as custodians of capital, but as strategic partners in propelling economic growth. At Absa, we are relentlessly innovating to ensure we are not merely adapting to change but actively shaping it,” he said.
