Botswana Oil Limited on Friday announced a mutual separation with its Chief Executive Officer, Meshack Tshekedi, whose contract is not being renewed.
In a statement availed to The Executive Botswana on Friday, Botswana Oil Limited’s Board of Directors confirmed the split, without providing a reason for it.
“The Board of Directors of Botswana Oil Limited (BOL) and the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Meshack Tshekedi, have reached a mutual agreement regarding the non-renewal of his contract of employment,” the Board said, thanking Tshekedi for what it termed ‘outstanding leadership, dedication and strategic direction.’
The announcement concludes Tshekedi’s decade-long relationship with Botswana Oil Limited, having joined the entity in 2015 as General Manager: Corporate Policy, Strategy and Business Planning.
He was appointed Botswana Oil Limited’s Chief Executive Officer in June 2020, following leadership stints at Botswana Investment and Trade Centre that included serving as Acting Chief Executive Officer.
Looking ahead, Botswana Oil Limited’s Board outlined that the company remains focused on serving our customers and partners, ensuring shareholder value creation while doing so.
“The Board of Directors and Executive leadership team are committed to maintaining stability and momentum during this transition,” the statement added, qualifying that relevant information about the future of the company’s leadership will be provided as it becomes available.
